In the past several years there has been a growing interest from Americans seeking to understand and participate in the depth of Orthodoxy. The American Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria (ACOCA) is the name given to a new set of parishes in 8 major metroplexes established by His Grace Bishop Youssef in the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of the Southern USA to serve the needs of Americans and American-raised Orthodox. With the blessing of H.G. Bishop Youssef, Archangel Michael Coptic Orthodox Church prayed it’s inaugural divine liturgy on February 2, 2017. The goal is to provide an environment where Americans can worship, learn, and live the true Orthodox faith in a language and culture familiar to them in the greater Phoenix area.
Visiting Our Church
Are non-Orthodox visitors welcome?
Yes, absolutely. We are a community made up of both cradle-born Orthodox Christians and those who have converted to the faith. We are very welcoming to newcomers, inquirers, and visitors. Anyone who wishes to discover the church that was established in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ by St. Mark the Evangelist in 43 A.D. is encouraged to ask questions. Our parish priests will be happy to answer questions about what we do and why.
